Everyone differs from one another. We all have our strengths and we all have over weaknesses. Now, since everyone is different their strengths and weaknesses come into play. This will determine how people handle their time and work, as well as the quality of the work and time the work was finished. I will be going into the medical field and becoming a physical therapist. My strengths and weaknesses will have a huge impact on how I handle my job and proceed to do my work.
Being a physical therapist I will have to listen and be polite to the patient. Being a good listener and a people person I should have no problem with this task. I am a hard worker and strive to be successful; that will be the part of me that is determined to get my work done and to be as precise as possible. When patients or co-workers have problems and want me to help them, I will. I am a laid back person who likes to help out others as much as I can. This will not only create a bond with my co-workers but with my patients as well.

Physical therapy has always been my dream job. I have wanted to work with people in the medical field because it has always fascinated me. Physical therapists not only get paid well, but there is always somewhere to create and own your own office.
Physical therapy is a healthcare specialty that includes the evaluation, assessment, and treatment of individuals with limitations in functional mobility. Physical therapy services are provided by physical therapists, who are professionals licensed by the state in which they work. Physical therapists are required to have a master's degree or a clinical doctorate degree from an accredited institution and must sit for a licensing exam to practice. Physical therapists use many different techniques to help you decrease pain, decrease stiffness, improve motion and strength, and improve mobility. Physical agents, such as heat, ice, ultra sound or electrical stimulation may be used. Manual techniques are often used to help improve mobility. Therapeutic exercise is often used by physical therapists to help people gain range of motion or R.O.M, increase strength, and improve function. Patient education about a condition or illness is paramount to the practice of physical therapy, and therapists may use charts, models, and diagrams to help you understand your diagnosis and prognosis.
Many people think of hospitals as the primary place where physical therapists practice, but therapists also work in a variety of other settings. If you are unable to leave your home do to illness or injury, a physical therapist can come to your house to provide home care. When an infant needs therapy, many state laws require that the child receive services in the setting that is most familiar to the child, either at home or in daycare. Physical therapists also practice in outpatient clinics, either privately owned, or owned and operated by large corporate entities, such as hospitals. Still other therapists work in nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Physical therapists mainly work a 40 hours a week with an annual salary of $80,000.
Becoming a physical therapist requires years of education and training in areas such as kinesiology, anatomy, biology and physical fitness. Many physical therapists also receive extensive training in patient psychology to better understand and help clients deal with emotional challenges during a physical ailment.
There are many professional organizations that are associated with physical therapy. These organizations are APTA Chapters and Sections, American Council of Academic Physical Therapy, and American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
